Osteoporosis Health Centre
Our Program |
The Osteoporosis Program
The Osteoporosis Program at Women's College Hospital uses a “one-stop” patient-centred approach. It diagnoses, assesses, educates and treats patients who have or are at risk of developing osteoporosis. This unique multidisciplinary program ensures that you:
- receive the best possible care
- take an active part in decisions about your health
- improve your chances of leading a healthy, active life
- minimize your risk of bone loss and associated complications
As a participant in the program, you will receive an in-depth assessment by a team of specially trained health professionals. The team includes a doctor, clinical nurse specialist, dietitian, pharmacist, occupational therapist and physiotherapist. You will learn about how to prevent and treat osteoporosis.
A referral is required.
We also have a research program whose goal is to improve the delivery of health care to individuals at risk for, or with established, osteoporosis.
