Our Program |
TRIDEC
TRIDEC was established in 1972 to provide support and education to people with diabetes and their families. Depending on the person's individual needs, group or one-on-one sessions are available. TRIDEC provides a multidisciplinary approach by a staff consisting of nurses, dietitians and a social worker. A 3-day group program runs from Monday to Wednesday and covers practical aspects of diabetes management. There are separate programs for those who take insulin and those who do not. Group or individual follow-up is encouraged after completion of the program
Specialty programs at TRIDEC include:
- pregnancy program for the woman who is contemplating pregnancy or is already pregnant
- individual counselling with a nurse and dietitian based on individual needs
- nutrition counseling
- individuals age 16 or older with Type I, Type II or Pre-diabetes counseling
TRIDEC also provides educational programs off-site to the public as well as health professionals as part of our outreach program. These programs are developed on an individual basis depending on the audience.
